Slowly & Clearly

Hey, man, slowly! One of my team members Raghav told me yesterday, and he said to me today again. To be honest, it hearts my feeling and makes me unhappy, but I know it’s my problem.

It’s very busy in Singapore recently, everyday from 9Am to 7:30Pm; only the lunch time has a break. Before we test in SIT, we need to do some set up, since there are about 20 pages need to be entry, I suggest using script to insert and update in the backend database. But while I prepare these scripts, 2 tables were missing. While we run our batch job, it can not pick up our voucher, its cost a long time to fix this problem.

Cause of my careless, yesterday I put my file to wrong directory, and more worse today I missing some table while I update the set up table and control table.

Its make me think in mind, just slowly and make it clearly before do it. And I think most important is that I should take more attention to Functional. Although I set up business unit and pay cycle whit Andrew, I do not know much about business logic. I think that is the reason why I missing these table, because for me, it’s just some table and script, but for others, they are business logic.

Today while left Karen told me, at beginning you learn technical skills, but when you get familiar with these technical skills, you should spend more time to get familiar with functional skills. What is the most valuable point of PeopleSoft? Not PeopleSoft Technical Skills but PeopleSoft Functional.

That’s true; I will pay more attention on PeopleSoft Functional Skills in the daily work. I believe I can get more clearly about PeopleSoft Functional Specifications, since nothing is impossible.
