How to Disable Visual Styles to Increase Performance

1.Go to ‘Start’ > Right-click on ‘My Computer’

2. Select ‘Properties’ from the drop-down menu

3.When the window opens, click the ‘Advanced’ tab

4. Under ‘Performace’ click ‘Settings

5. Under ‘Visual Effects’ uncheck everything except the following:

Shadows under menus

Shadows under mouse pointers

Show transluscent selection rectangle

Use drop shadows for icons labels on desktop

Use visual styles on windows and buttons

6. If you really don’t care for visuals and you are really looking for performace, then click on ‘Adjust for Performance’ under Visual Effects.
