定语从句的关系副词有：
when，where ， why
why : 用于修饰表示原因的名词（eg. the reason）
We don't know the reason why he didn't show up . 我们不知道他为什么没有出现的原因。
the reason译为 “原因”，所以使用why关系副词，如果分不清，直接记住 the reason why固定搭配就行。
when : 修饰表示时间的名词（eg. next week）
We'll put off the picnic until next week , when the weather may be better. 我们将野餐推迟下周，那时天气可能会好些。
先行词是时间next week ，使用关系副词when。
where ： 修饰表示地点的名词（eg. the place)
We don't know the place where he lives. 我们不知道他住的地方。
先行词是地点，定语从句缺少宾语，he 主语，lives谓语，如果涉及地点的句子，通常是介词短语充当地点副词（如：in school），但是现在定语从句里面的介词短语没有了，所以用关系副词代替，因为要连接先行词和定语从句，所以把代替介词短语的关系副词放在先行词后面。
练习：
1. He works in a factory where/ in which TV sets are made. 他在制造电视剧的工厂里工作。
先行词是factory地点，所以使用关系副词where/in which ，为什么这里使用which时要在前面加介词in呢，因为where直接代替了地点副词，但是使用which时，并没有指定具体位置，所以加了介词in。
2. We'll put off the picnic until next week, when the weather may be better. 我们推迟野餐到下周，那时天气可能会更好。
3. She didn't tell me the reason why she refused the offer. 她没有告诉我她拒绝offer的原因。
固定搭配，the reason why，记住就行。
