我在gnome3的系统设置中无法添加打印机，找到一个解决方法是使用system-config-printer-gnome [1]。
我用如下方法成功配置惠普网络打印机。
1安装system-config-printer-gnome
sudo pacman -S system-config-printer-gnome
sudo pacman -S packagekit-python
其中packagekit-python这个包必须安装，否则不能使用system-config-printer-gnome
2安装cups
sudo pacman -S cups
这一过程我记不清了，如果cupsd服务不能启动，则可按照arch wiki 的提示安装软件软件包[2]
pacman -S cups ghostscript gsfonts
惠普打印机可能还要安装[2]
sudo pacman -S hpoj
然后开启cupsd
sudo rc.d start cupsd
让cupsd自动启动[2]，
编辑/etc/rc.conf，
DAEMONS=(...cupsd...)
3配置打印机：
system-config-printer
按照提示操作就可以了。
