Acquainted
adj. 了解；知晓（某事）；熟悉；交游甚广的
v. 使熟悉( acquaint的过去式和过去分词 )；使了解；通知；告知
If you are acquainted with something, you know about it because you have learned it or experienced it.
He was well acquainted with the literature of France, Germany and Holland...
他对于法国、德国和荷兰的文学了如指掌。
I am also looking forward to getting more acquainted with immigration law.

Practice 1：当我们想知道对方从哪里来或是哪国人时，我们通常问 Where are you from? 你是哪儿的人?回答是 I'm from... 我是……的人。?
Examples: MARTIN: Where are you from??
STEFAN: I'm from Poland.?
MARTIN: What city are you from??
STEFAN: I'm from Cracow. Where are you from??
MARTIN: I'm from Chicago.?
Practice 2： 我们想知道对方住在哪儿时，通常这样问：Where do you live? 你现在住哪儿?回答是：I live in/ at... 我住在…… Where do you live? 是问现在的住址。回答时通常需明确指出城市、街道、门牌号码。Where are you from? 是问对方的籍贯。回答只需说出国家或者城市名。?

1．What're yu gonna have? 你想要点什么??
这是一句比较口语化的用法。为 What are you going to have? 的不规范用 yu＝you, gonna＝going to?
课文中类似的用法还有：Here y'are. 即 Here you are.?
2．two coffees 两杯咖啡?
coffee 这个词原为不可数名词，没有复数形式。但是如果作几杯咖啡讲时，则可变为复数，一般常用于口语中。例如：a coffee 一杯咖啡 two coffees 两杯咖啡 three coffees 三杯咖啡?

在美国，咖啡馆很多。咖啡馆一般也供应各种便餐，快而便宜。美国人非常喜欢喝咖啡。在工作或者休闲时都可以喝。与欧洲人不同，美国人在进餐时喝咖啡(欧洲人一般在餐后喝)，边吃边喝。但美国人喝咖啡也有一些规矩，例如：喝咖啡时要就着杯子喝，而不能用咖啡匙喝。?
