Demo of Compressed Domain Packet Loss Concealment of Sinusoidally Coded Speech

This webpage contains a demo of the speech coder and packet loss concealment (PLC) method that were presented in [1]. The demo consists of three exceprts. In the first, the speech in coded at 8kbps using parametric coding techniques and subsequently decoded with no packet losses. The next excerpt is an example of how the speech may sound if 30% of the packets are lost (randomly) during transmission in a packet-based network such as the Internet. In the last example, 30% are stil lost (same packets as before), but the speech is now synthesized by interpolating the coded parameters in an appropriate way.
