it's my understanding that abortions can take place up to 3.5 months after conception.
Some facts:
at 20days: foundations of brain, spinal cord and nervous system are laid.
24 days: heart begins to beat
30 days: Child has grown 10,000 times to 6-7mm. Brain has human proportions. Blood flows in veins (and is separate from motheres blood.)
35 days: pituitary gland in brain is forming. Mouth, ears, and nose are taking shape.
42 days: Skeleton is formed. Brian coordinates movement of muscles and organs/ Reflex respnoses have begun. Penis is forming in boys. (mother misses second period)
43 days: brain waves CAN be recorded.
8.5wks: Fingerprints are being engraved. Eyelids and palms of hands are sensitive to touch.
9wks: Child will bend fingers around an object placed in the palm. Thumb sucking occurs. Fingernails are now forming.
10wks: Body is sensitive to touch. Child squints, swallows, puckers up brow and frowns.
11 wks: Baby urinates, makes complex facial expressions - even smiles.
12 wks: Vigorous activity shows distinct individuality. Child can kick, turn feet, curl and fan toes, make a fist, move thumbs, bend wrists, turn head, open mouth and press lips tightly together. Breathing is practiced.
13wks: Face is prettier, facial expressions resembling parents'. Movements are graceful, reflexes vigorous. Vocal cords are formed (but without air baby cannot cry). Sex organs are apparant.
4 months: Child can grasp with hands, swim, and turn somersaults.
Now. These are the facts. So far, I have given you no opinion, up to this point.
How can it be said that this baby has no feeling when it's brain can coordinate movement?
How can you take away someone's humanness when their heart is beating?
Death in an adult person is recognized by a stopped heart, and no brain activity. 20 days from conception the brain, spinal cord, and nervous system are beginning to function.
How can we say it's not murder to abort even as early as 20days? Let alone 3.5 months?
Obviously, each to his own. But I know women who have chosen to abort, and are now emotionally scarred for life, (some of which unable to forgive themselves cry at the mention of abortion.
People. To put it simply, aboriton, is a selfish procedure that ultimately is not the right answer. Adoption is the answer to someone incapable, to someone too young, to someone who was raped and can't handle it. Because that leaves the door open to eventually come to terms and take your place as a parent. Even if this doesn't happen you are giving this child it's humanness. It's right to life.
Your baby, once conceived has a right to life.
