每天用Outlook处理博客园大量的邮件，最近将Outlook从2003升级到Outlook 2007，没想到Outlook 2007竟然存在性能问题，在接收邮件时速度很慢，每当接收时，硬盘指示灯狂闪，比Outlook 2003慢多了，郁闷，现在也没法降级到Outlook 2003，Outlook 2007的.pst文件使用了新的格式。
通过google搜索"outlook 2007 slow "发现Outlook 2007果然存在性能问题：Outlook 2007 is slow, RSS broken。
在微软的knowledgebase article中提到了这个问题，KB中说如果.pst文件大于2GB时可能会出现性能问题，可我这里的.pst文件只有500M左右。
我想问题的原因就是KB中所说的：To accommodate new features, Outlook 2007 introduced a new data structure for .pst and .ost files. In this new data structure, the frequency of writing data to the hard disk increases as the number of items in the .pst or .ost files increases。
