什么是ICMPv4协议?

Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP) 是Internet Protocol Suite的核心协议之一. 网络上的操作系统使用这个协议来发送错误信息来说明一些东西, 比如说, 被请求的服务不可用, 或者主机或路由不能被reach到. ICMP还可以被用来转播query messages.

ICMP跟TCP和UDP这样的传输协议不同, 它并不是被设计来在系统间传输数据的, 也不是被终端应用程序经常使用的(除了排错工具, 比如说ping和traceroute).

为Internet Protocol version 4服务的叫ICMPv4, 那ICMP6就不用解释了.
