Detailed description of what the experience will look like
The intern will gain exciting real-world software engineering experience at a thriving company.
We frequently work in small teams to solve problems, explore new technologies, and learn from one another. The ideal intern for this environment will be enthusiastic and collaborative. Hours are flexible and the position is remote. The candidate will have an opportunity to develop new features, and review code which will see production. This is a great opportunity for a computer science undergrad or grad student seeking to build their programming skill set and gain experience.
Because this is a remote position, community will occur via slack, and intern will be expected to attend weekly development conference calls with development team to discuss deliverables and tasks.
At the end of the internship, interns can expect to have gained experience working with git, and having familiarized himself with the codebase, developed new features, and reviewed code pushed by the rest of the development team
Responsibilities
- Create clean HTML/CSS codes based on the provided design
- Troubleshoot, test and maintain to ensure strong optimisation and functionality.
- Coordinate with the design and development team
Skills
- At least one year of demonstrated experience in the field.
- Extensive knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Knowledge of HTML/CSS frameworks (ie. Foundation, Bootstrap)
- Experience in Responsive Website Development
- Experience with WordPress development environment will be an added advantage
- Familiarity with version control systems Git
- Good knowledge on cross-browser and cross-device compatibility
- Work within strict timeframes in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Translating designs and wireframes into high quality code
- Refine a critical, detail oriented eye for design and interaction while enhancing your development skills.
- Optimizing components for maximum performance across a vast array of web capable devices and browsers
Other Notes:
- Preferred start date is within a week or two from date of application. If you won't be available to start for a few months then please apply at a later date
- The weekly time commitment for an internship is 10-15 hours per week. Please make sure you have the availability to commit.
- Hours are flexible.
